Sustainable viticulture

Our commitment to sustainability: life among cultivated vineyards and cultivating vineyards that sustain life.

Dante Rivetti

Dante Rivetti chose sustainable viticulture, one that focuses on preserving the delicate natural harmony of the Langhe, balancing production needs with ecological awareness. Since the early 2000s, the family has chosen to limit the use of synthetic products, ensuring that all materials and treatments utilized have the least possible impact on the environment.

In the vineyard, mechanical mowing is preferred to chemical weed control. The spaces between the vine rows are planted with vine-friendly plants that allow soil aeration and prevent erosion. Organic fertilizers made from bovine manure mixed with straw are used and distributed where the vineyards need it most. Intervention on the greenery and harvesting operations are entirely carried by hand and customized according to the season and the needs of each individual plant.

This labor-intensive process requires constant presence in the field and dedicated attention and is carefully studied for every vineyard. But all the exerted effort is paid off by the certainty of producing highly expressive and identifying wines that are projected to the future of this land.

Energy efficiency

In the cellar, environmental sustainability is continuously ensured thanks to a 330 KW photovoltaic system that can cover most of the energy needed. The new production facility, which will be completed in the coming years, will be dug under the hill, ensuring perfect natural insulation.
